The subject of this work, originally painted in 2017, and then reworked recently in 2024, is not just a physical location, which in this case is a place in central Serbia at sunset but also a melancholic glimpse into memories, which we sometimes find difficult to let go of. It is very expressive and is characterised by the thick impasto and gestural painting style. Media: oil on stretched canvas. 40 x 56 x 2 cm (16 x 22 x 1 in).
