I have been painting the human form for the last seven years, often focusing on just the face and its complex micro-topography. I attempt to channel its expressive energy through thick and lush oil paint applications, intriguing close-ups and untold elements, whilst touching on the idea of human condition. I do not dwell on the traditional concepts of likeness and beauty, instead trying to evoke a deeply personal experience of my art.
I paint from my own reflection in the mirror or work with people I know, as well as from other available sources including photographs and artefacts. I welcome commissions.
